What is Tulip Cell?

Tulip Cell is an Excel add-in that provides technical analysis functions.

For example, if you have stock data in Excel, you can use Tulip Cell to calculate popular indicators like, a simple moving average, an exponential moving average, MACD, Bollinger Bands, the stochastic oscillator, the parabolic stop-and-reverse, etc. Tulip Cells provides over 100 functions.

Why the name?

The "tulip" part is a reference to Tulip Mania. The "cell" part is a reference to spreadsheet cells.

Tulip Cell is part of a family of tulip themed softwares, with Tulip Charts and Tulip Indicators being two of its siblings.

Because Tulip Cell provides all of the indicators that Tulip Indicators does, you can also refer to the documentation on that website.

Is it really free?

Yes. It's not only free as in no money, it's also free as in freedom. The full source code is available, so if you're a programmer you can change and improve it.

Why is it free?

I use a lot of free software myself, so I decided to give back some.

Will it work on Mac or Linux?

Not yet. If that's something you'd like, let me know. I might be able to arrange it. The code is portable in theory.
